DEGREE COURSES

BSc in APPLIED MATHEMATICS

     A 4-year full-time Bachelor’s Degree Program granting the professional qualification of Mathematician.

The curriculum covers the fundamentals of mathematics and computer science with an emphasis on mathematical modelling and information technologies. Almost one third of the courses on the curriculum are elective, which enables students to put an emphasis on specific fields of applied mathematics they opt for, as well as to attend courses in the fields of mathematics, computer science, economics, business, law, psychology, philosophy, language training, etc.

Upon graduation, majors in Applied Mathematics will be able to apply the mathematical apparatus combined with new information technologies to various fields of human activity such as banks and insurance companies, in business and commerce, in scientific research teams, etc, and upon completing a Master’s Degree Program they will be eligible for the careers of teachers and researchers at higher and other institutions.

During their training, students can do a minor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics or a second major with another faculty at University of Plovdiv in accordance with their personal interests and goals. 

Upon graduation, students may wish to continue their education by taking a Master’s Degree Program offered by the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, by other faculties of University of Plovdiv, or another higher institution.

Students are welcome to use the self-access Internet-connected computer room and have their personal e-mail accounts and personal web pages on the faculty server.
